Quick Start Guide

Create your first project in minutes
Get from idea to working website in minutes. This guide walks through the complete workflow.
Step 1: Define Your Vision
Start with a clear prompt that describes your project. The more specific, the better the output.
Blueprint Formula:
“Build a [site type] for [audience] that [primary goal]. Include [key sections]. Style: [visual direction].”
Example:
“Build a portfolio site for a UX designer that showcases case studies. Include a hero section with headline and CTA, a 3-column project grid with hover effects, an about section, and a contact form. Style: minimal, lots of whitespace, dark text on light background.”
See our Creator’s Prompt Guide for advanced prompting techniques.
Step 2: Review the Generated Site
Sticklight generates a complete, functional website based on your prompt. The live preview shows exactly what visitors will see.
Use the responsive preview to check how your site looks on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Step 3: Iterate & Refine
Refine your site through conversation. If you’re unsure how something works, switch to Ask mode to explore your project without making changes.
Common refinements:
- “Make the hero headline larger and add a subtle gradient background”
- “Change the button color to match my brand (#3B82F6)”
- “Add a testimonials section between the features and contact form”
You can also use visual editing to click and adjust elements directly.
Step 4: Polish the Details
- Typography – Adjust font sizes, weights, and spacing
- Colors – Fine-tune your palette with brand kits
- Content – Replace placeholder text with your real copy
- Images – Upload your own assets or generate custom images
Step 5: Publish
When you’re satisfied, click Publish in the top navigation. Your site goes live on a sticklight.app subdomain.
Choose a memorable subdomain (like yourname.sticklight.app) and share it immediately. See publishing your website for details.
