This guide covers how to access and use Skills in Sticklight. For background on what Skills are, see What Are Skills?.

Accessing Skills

There are two ways to access Skills:

Type / in the chat input to quickly search and select a skill to use in your prompt.

Click the / button below the chat input to open the full Skills menu, where you can:

  • Search for skills
  • See your recent skills
  • Add a new skill
  • Open the Skills library

Applying a Skill

To use a skill in your conversation:

  1. Type / in the chat input
  2. Search or scroll to find the skill you want
  3. Click the skill name to add it to your prompt

The skill will be attached to your message. When you send, the AI reads the skill’s instructions and follows them.

You can also click the / button, open the Skills library, and click + Add to prompt on any skill card.

Skills Library

Click the / button below the chat input, then select Skills library to see all your skills in one place.

The library shows:

  • All – Every skill available to you
  • Official – Skills created by Sticklight
  • Personal – Skills you’ve created

Each skill card displays the name, description, author, and usage count. Click + Add to prompt to use a skill in your current conversation.

Viewing Skill Details

Click on any skill in the library to view its full content:

  • Name – The skill identifier
  • Description – A summary of what the skill does
  • Content – The complete instructions the AI follows

Review skill content to understand exactly what guidance the AI will receive when you use it.

Official Skills

Official Skills are pre-built by Sticklight for common tasks like frontend design. They’re ready to use immediately.

Check the Official tab in the Skills library for the latest available skills.

You cannot edit Official Skills, but you can view their content to understand what guidance they provide.

Skill Limits

LimitValue
Name length255 characters
Description length1,024 characters
Content length50,000 characters

There’s no limit on how many skills you can create.

Skills Are Account-Wide

Skills apply to your entire Sticklight account, not individual projects. Once you create a skill, it’s available across all your projects.

This means:

  • A “brand-guidelines” skill works in every project
  • You don’t need to recreate skills for each project

Tips for Using Skills

Use the search – Type / and start typing to quickly find the skill you need.

Combine skills – You can add multiple skills to a single prompt for complex tasks.

Check Official skills first – Before creating a custom skill, see if an Official skill already does what you need.
