Connect Sticklight to ChatGPT to build apps directly from your conversations. Step-by-step setup guide and tips.
Connect Sticklight to ChatGPT to build apps from your conversations. If you already use ChatGPT for client communication, research, or content strategy, adding Sticklight keeps everything in one place.
There is also an existing Sticklight app you can connect within the approved ChatGPT apps. This guide covers setting up the MCP connector for more control.
For general MCP concepts like previews, projects, and prompt strategies, see About Sticklight MCP.
Why ChatGPT
Good for:
- Agencies handling client intake and delivery in one flow
- Freelancers who brainstorm and build in the same session
- Non-technical creators who prefer a conversational interface
Standout features:
- MCP Apps widget shows live previews inline
- Conversation history preserves project context
- Works on web and mobile
Prerequisites
- A ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise account (custom connectors require a paid plan)
- A Sticklight account
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Open ChatGPT settings
Go to ChatGPT.com on your browser. Click your profile icon in the bottom left, then select Settings.
2. Navigate to Apps
Navigate to Apps in the settings menu. Start with enabling developer mode by going to Apps -> Advanced Settings. Turn on Developer mode and return to the Apps screen.
3. Add a new connector
Click Create app or the equivalent button for your ChatGPT version.
4. Configure the connector
Enter the following details:
- Name: Sticklight
- URL:
https://mcp.sticklight.com/mcp - Authentication: OAuth
5. Complete authentication
Click Create or Save. A Sticklight login window opens. Sign in with your Sticklight account to authorize the connection.
6. Enable the connector in a chat
Start a new conversation. Click the connectors icon (or look for enabled tools) and turn on Sticklight.
Your First Build
Try this prompt to confirm everything works:
“Use Sticklight to create a landing page for a boutique wedding photography studio. Include a hero with a romantic headline, a gallery section, packages with pricing, testimonials, and a contact form.”
You’ll see Sticklight acknowledge the request, then a preview widget appears showing your app as it builds.
ChatGPT-Specific Tips
Use conversation context – ChatGPT excels at maintaining context. Paste a client brief at the start, then reference it throughout: “Based on the brief above, create…”
Share previews easily – The inline preview widget makes it simple to screenshot and share progress with clients without leaving the chat.
Mobile works too – ChatGPT’s mobile app supports connectors, so you can check on builds or make quick edits from your phone.
Combine with research – Ask ChatGPT to research competitors or gather content ideas, then immediately build based on that research in the same conversation.
Troubleshooting
ChatGPT doesn’t show the connector option
