Custom Subdomain

Choose a memorable URL for your published site

Your subdomain is how people access your published site. Choose something memorable and relevant.

Who can do this: Workspace Owners and Admins can change the subdomain. Editors can publish but cannot modify subdomain settings. See Roles and Permissions for details.

Subdomain Format

All published sites use the format:

yourname.sticklight.app

You choose the “yourname” part. This URL becomes active the moment you publish your site.

Choosing a Good Subdomain

For personal sites:

  • janedoe.sticklight.app
  • jd-design.sticklight.app
  • janedesigns.sticklight.app

For businesses:

  • acmecorp.sticklight.app
  • acme-consulting.sticklight.app
  • acme-nyc.sticklight.app

Subdomain Rules

  • Lowercase letters and numbers only
  • Hyphens allowed (but not at start or end)
  • No spaces or special characters
  • Must be unique (not already taken)
  • Minimum 3 characters

Changing Your Subdomain

You can change your subdomain at any time:

  1. Click Publish in the top navigation
  2. Click the pencil icon next to your subdomain
  3. Edit the name
  4. Click the checkmark to save or the X to cancel

Note: Changing your subdomain means:

  • Old URL stops working immediately
  • Anyone with the old link will get an error
  • Update your shared links after changing
