Update Published Site
1 min read
Push changes to your live website
Keep your live site current by pushing updates when you are ready.
Who can do this: Owners, Admins, and Editors can push updates to a published site. See Roles and Permissions for details.
How Updates Work
Your workspace and published site are separate:
- Workspace – Where you build and refine
- Published site – What visitors see
Changes in your workspace do not affect the published site until you explicitly update.
Pushing Updates
- Make changes in your workspace
- Preview and verify everything looks right
- Click Publish in the top navigation
- Click Update to push changes live
Update vs. Publish
- Publish – First time going live
- Update – Subsequent changes to an already-published site
Both use the same Publish button. Sticklight knows whether to publish or update based on your site status.
What Gets Updated
Everything syncs to your published site:
- Page content and structure
- Styles and design changes
- New pages or removed pages
- Database schema changes (if using Cloud Backend)
Rollback Option
If you publish something you did not intend, use Version History to revert to a previous version, then update again.
Best Practices
- Preview thoroughly before updating
- Test on mobile via responsive preview
- Check forms and interactive elements work
- Update during low-traffic times if your site has regular visitors
